Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
Like most websites, we sometimes place small data files called cookies on your device to make this Site work properly and for the further purposes set out below.
A cookie is a small text file that our Site saves on your computer when you visit the Site. It enables the Site to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the Site or browse from one page to another. Cookies may also be used for online behavioral target advertising and to show ads that may be relevant to something that you may have searched for on our Site in the past. The following types of cookies may be used on our Site:
First-Party Cookies: We may place our own first-party cookies based on the pages that you visit on our Site.
Third-Party Cookies: Third-party cookies may also be placed by others when you visit our Site.
Session Cookies: We may use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our Site. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser.
Persistent Cookies: We may also use persistent cookies that remain on your hard drive for an extended period of time, and which can be used to store a password or track and target the interests of users navigating the Site.
Our uses of cookies include, but are not limited to, the following purposes:
User input cookies (session-id) such as first party cookies to keep track of the user’s input when filling online forms, shopping carts, etc., for the duration of a session or persistent cookies limited to a few hours in some cases;
Authentication cookies, to identify the user once he has logged in, for the duration of a session;
User centric security cookies, used to detect authentication abuses, for a limited persistent duration;
Multimedia content player cookies, used to store technical data to play back video or audio content, for the duration of a session;
Load balancing cookies, for the duration of session;
User interface customization cookies such as language or font preferences, for the duration of a session (or slightly longer); and
Third party social plug in content sharing cookies, for logged in members of a social network.
Enabling cookies will provide you with a better browsing experience. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit our Site and some services and functionalities may not work.
We may also use other website tracking technologies to identify you and keep track of your preferences, prevent fraudulent activity or improve Site security, assess the performance of the Site, deliver content to you based on your interests on our Site and third-party websites, and engage in other activities as permitted by law.
We may compile statistical or aggregated information from our Site users. Although this information may be derived from your personal information, this information no longer directly identifies you or any specific person. For example, we may aggregate personal information to calculate the percentage of users in a particular postal code.
Third Party Data Collection
We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly. Some of these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used for targeted advertising. For example, some of these companies are members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”), which provides a single location where you can opt out of receiving targeted ads from member companies. To opt out, please visit the NAI’s website at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.
